About DARMASISWA Program

DARMASISWA is a one-year non-degree scholarship program offered by the Indonesian government to non-Indonesian citizens from countries with diplomatic ties to study Indonesian language, arts, music, crafts, and culture at selected higher institutions in Indonesia.

Organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the program was launched in 1974 as an ASEAN initiative and has expanded to over 135 participating nations to build strong international cultural bonds.
